Rewards in a Positive Living Environment

“RIPLE”

At ANEW Chemical Health Services, we use a contingency management, rewards based system called “RIPLE” or “Rewards in a Positive Living Environment” which is a positive, growth-based model that will assist clients in completing daily responsibilities, making healthy choices, understanding consequences in a safe space, maintaining accountability and working towards goals.

ANEW Chemical Health Services believes that safety and respect are fundamental to a healthy recovery environment. Program participants are asked to follow program agreements centered around these key elements.

RIPLE Overview

  • Clients will have Daily Responsibilities to complete. When clients complete all of their daily responsibilities on time, they will earn a stamp at the end of the day.

  • There are established Agreements, guidelines and expectations of the program, to follow. If an agreement is not followed, clients will be asked to pull “Healthy Habit Cards.” Healthy Habit Cards are meant to help clients learn new habits, gain new experiences, and increase coping skills.

  • Actions which include showing kindness towards others, going out of the way to help someone in the community, or showing extra positivity may earn clients a Random Act of Kindness (RAK) stamp from a staff person.

  • The stamps clients earn can be spent at the RIPLE Store on the items or privileges of their choice. Please note that some privileges, like passes, still require approval from clients' primary counselors to be used.
